Blackberry punya masa-masa indah di Indonesia. Setelah Nokia mendominasi, Blackberry menggilas semua ponsel dengan keyboardnya, aplikasinya, dan tentu saja, BBM-nya yang eksklusif. Tentu saja Blackberry menawarkan keamanan enkripsi email yang hingga kini menjadi yang terbaik, namun tetap saja BBM adalah kunci utama kekuasaan Blackberry di Indonesia.

Namun bulan madu Blackberry di Indonesia telah berlalu. Apple dan Google datang mengeroyok pangsa pasar, meninggalkan Blackberry di belakang. Terutama setelah BBM dirilis di App Store dan Android Market. Blackberry telah kehilangan ekslusivitas BBM-nya.

Blackberry berusaha menyusul, namun tetap bersikeras dengan OS Blackberry-nya. Apalagi tak ada inovasi menarik yang membuat para penggunanya bertahan. Sebuah kesalahan fatal, karena kini Android dan iOS menjadi dua kuda pacu dalam perebutan kue pasar pengguna smartphone.

Namun kini Blackberry mencoba membangkitkan kembali sisa kejayaannya dengan merilis smartphone ber-OS Android. Blackberry Aurora namanya. Ia dapat menjadi alternatif bagi Anda penggemar berat Blackberry.

Blackberry dilengkapi prosesor Quad-Core dan RAM 4 GB, yang takkan lemot bila digunakan untuk bersosial media ataupun penggunaan standar lainnya. Kameranya sendiri sudah 13 MP, sehingga resolusi yang ditawarkan cukup besar.

Bicara resolusi, layarnya sendiri sudah 1280 x 720 pixel. Cukup tajam, dengan layar LED. Bodi belakangnya cukup berkelas, dengan logo BB tampil cukup besar. Selain itu konsumsi daya ponsel ini cukup rendah. Waktu standby ponsel ini 30 jam, bicara 20 jam, dan dapat memainkan video selama 10 jam.

Dan, tentu saja fitur terbaik pada Blackberry adalah keamanannya. Blackberry tetap mengintegrasikan enkripsi keamanannya pada ponsel ini. Secara fitur, jujur saja tak ada hal lain yang spesial pada ponsel ini. Nyaris seluruh spesifikasinya standar, bahkan beberapa ponsel lain memiliki fitur lebih banyak.

Ponsel sekelas Blackberry Aurora harusnya sudah memiliki layar Gorilla Glass, ataupun fitur spesial pada layarnya, seperti AMOLED atau Triluminos. Namun ponsel ini tidak dilengkapi fitur spesial apapun. Kesimpulannya, Blackberry Aurora adalah smartphone untuk Anda yang memilih keamanan. Namun jika yang Anda inginkan adalah fitur, Anda boleh beralih ke ponsel lain.
