Ini dia smartphone pertama LG yang sudah menggunakan konsep modular. LG G5 dikeluarkan bersamaan dengan versi SEnya. Konsep modular memungkinkan slot baterai tidak berada di belakang melainkan baterai terpisah dengan slot di bagian bawah. Konsep ini akan memudahkan dalam mengganti dan melepas baterai.

Design LG G5 elegan dengan bahan metal tidak seperti kebanyakan smartphone LG. Dengan layar 5.3 inches QHD. Resolusi yang dimiliki G5 1440 x 2560 pixel merupakan resolusi diatas rata-rata yang akan memberikan gambar yang jernih dan memberikan pengalaman menonton dan bermain game secara maksimal. Dan sudah dilindungi oleh Gorilla Glass 4. Dilengkapi juga dengan Daylight Mode yang memungkinkan layar tetap tajam dan jelas di siang terik.

Fitur lain yang terdapat dalam LG G5 tidak berbeda dengan versi SEnya. Terdapat fitur Always-on Display yang dapat menampilkan tanggal, jam, dan beberapa notifikasi saat layar mati. Selain itu smartphone ini sudah support 4G LTE. Dan terdapat juga fingerprint sebagai power/unlock.

Kamera yang ditawarkan G5 juga sangat baik. G5 ditawarkan dengan dual primary camera. Pertama sebesar 16 MP dengan angle normal akan memberikan hasil gambar dan video yang jernih dan tajam. Sedangkan yang kedua sebesar 8 MP dengan wide-angle sebesar 135 derajat sehingga dapat menghasilkan gambar yang lebih lebar. Untuk kamera depan G5 dilengkapi dengan 8 MP kamera. Dilengkapi dengan fitur instan seperti Pop-out, Multi-view, juga filter-filter lainnya.

G5 sendiri dilengkapi dengan prosesor yang lebih baik dibanding versi SEnya yaitu Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820. Sedangkan RAM yang dimiliki G5 sebesar 4 GB lebih besar 1 GB dibanding versi SEnya. Untuk kapasitas penyimanan G5 memiliki memori internal sebesar 32 GB dan dapat ditambah dengan memori eksternal. Dengan sistem operasi Android Marshmallow 6.0. Kapasitas baterai yang dimiliki sebesar 2,800 mAh dan merupakan removable battery.
