Samsung Galaxy Tab T-Mobile T849 mengusung layar TFT capacitive touchscreen berukuran 7.0 inci dengan aspek rasio 16 : 9 sehingga tampilan layar tab ini tampak jelas. Gambar yang dihasilkan mempunyai resolusi 600 x 1024 pixels dengan kerapatan 170 ppi dan dilengkapi dengan pelindung layar Corning Gorilla Glass. Samsung Galaxy Tab T-Mobile T849 mempunyai ukuran dimensi 190.1 x 120.5 x 12 mm dengan bobot 380 gram.

Perangkat ini menggunakan sistem operasi Android 2.2 (Froyo). Selanjutnya beralih ke dapur pacunya, tab ini menggunakan chipset Hummingbird dengan tipe CPU 1.0 GHz Cortex-A8 dan GPU PowerVR SGX540. Ukuran RAM yang dibawa oleh tab ini adalah 640 MB dengan memori internal 16 GB.
