Hadir bersama K series lainnya LG K5 tidak banyak memiliki perbedaan fitur dengan K series lainnya. Hanya terdapat beberapa perbedaan di spesifikasi pendukungnya disesuaikan dengan harga yang ditawarkan oleh LG. K5 dibekali dengan Quad-core 1.3 GHz. Dengan RAM sebesar 1 GB yang cukup untuk menjalankan aplikasi sederhana yang sering dipakai sekarang ini. Untuk kapasitas penyimpanan internal diberikan sebesar 8 GB dan dapat ditambah memori eksternal.

Sedangkan sistem operasi yang dijalankan K5 disesuaikan dengan kemampuannya. K5 menjalankan sistem operasi Android Lollipop 5.0. Ini sudah cukup untuk K5 sehingga kinerja K5 tidak semakin berat dan dapat bekerja optimal.

Karena K5 merupakan smartphone dengan harga yang murah maka kamera yang dimiliki K5 juga tidak terlalu bagus. K5 dilengkapi dengan kamera 5 MP dan kamera depan sebesar 2 MP. Sama seperti K series lainnya K5 dilengkapi kemampuan Gesture Shot. Terdapat juga LED flash yang diberikan untuk kamera depan K5 ini.

K5 hadir dengan ukuran 5.0 inches IPS LCD sama sperti K series lainnya. Resolusi yang dimiliki LG K5 ini tidak terlalu bagus yaitu 480 x 854. Dengan body smartphone plastic sehingga ringan. Kapasitas baterai yang dimiliki K5 cukup kecil yaitu 1,900 mAh. Sayangnya K5 tidak didukung dengan teknologi 4G. Walau kemampuan K5 tidak sebaik K series lainnya namun spesifikasi yang ditawarkan K5 sudah cukup baik untuk smartphone dibawah satu juta.
